Governance

Today women account for:
23% of Mayor and Councillors on Cape Breton Regional Municipal Council.
23% of Chief and Councillors in Membertou.
0% of Chief and Councillors in Eskasoni.

We think we can do better. We are committed to encouraging and supporting women as they pursue positions in Band, Municipal, Provincial and Federal government.

Women make up less than 50% on most boards in Cape Breton.

We are committed to supporting women seeking to get involved in community governance and to supporting boards who are looking to improve their gender composition.

Upcoming women in governance newsletter

I’m interested in learning more about women in politics. Keep me posted on your upcoming women in governance events.
